Constituted as 9th Photographic Reconnaissance Group on 15 Sep
1943. Activated on 1 Oct 1943. Assigned to Third AF. With squadrons
attached but none assigned, the group trained crews and units for
photographic reconnaissance and combat mapping. Aircraft included
B-17's, B-24's, F-4's, F-5's, F-7's, and A-20's. Disbanded on 6 May
1944.
