Army Air Forces

There were many levels of command in the Army Air Forces. AFs numbered 1-4 were located in the US and were reponsible for continental security and training. While other numbered AFs were located overseas in in direct combat. Each had their geographic area of responsibility. Some were specialty commands such as the Antisubmarine and Troop Transport and they operated in many locations.
