ADMINISTRATIVE PRACTICES
Use of the Term “Fighter”
1. To effect standardization of nomenclature with other similar organizations the Army Air Forces will henceforth use the term “fighter” in place of the terms “Pursuit” and “Interceptor”, except
a. The term “Interceptor” may be used as a descriptive prefix to indicate one phase of “Fighter” employment.
2. The nomenclature prescribed in paragraph 1 above will be used in all correspondence and communications in the future and all references to “Pursuit” or “Interceptor” in current publications will be construed to mean “Fighter”.
3. Tables of Organization are being amended accordingly.

We accept electronic/scans or originals of pictures and paper records. A General Order could be an award document that contains information on many servicemen. Special Orders may contain transfers or other information. Flight records, accident reports, maintenance logs, after action reports, pilot encounter reports, diaries and biorgraphies; all of these types of documents help us support or mission: preserving your history!
