Next Steps: Master Sergeant Adams was a member of the 33rd Air Rescue and Recovery Squadron. On October 18, 1966, he was a passenger in a Grumman Albatross Utility Helicopter (HU-16B) on a rescue mission of a downed pilot in the Gulf of Tonkin about 80 miles off the China coast. Contact with the aircraft was lost. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. **
