Next Steps: Major Andre was a member of the 609th Special Operations Squadron, Nakhon Phanom Airfield, Thailand. On July 8, 1969, he was the navigator of a Douglas Counter Invader Attack Aircraft (A-26A) on a hunter killer mission over the plain of Jars region of Xiangkhoang Province, Laos. When about 12 miles south of Ban Na Mai, his aircraft was shot down. His name is permanently inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. MAJ Andre's remains have been recovered and identified. **
